do not disturb Hector II

This work is a generative work, it started generated with a sentence' I have no idea' , then I write many ' 壓韻 ' sentences.I want to let the audience to have a stressful feeling and somehow i think that the words inside the box become graphical. This space also recorded how I felt and what i was thinking when i was doing this work. i like to say something in a ' 壓韻' way and therefore i would like to make it to be an installation.

this is my mid-term art work, I used gaffer tape to cover every branding's name and logo shown in magazine. I have totally done 3 pieces of magazines and put 2 of them back to the 7-11 to reselling them to others, 1 of them i put it in Mong Kok Library. I want to point out that the teenagers nowadays are receiving these banding promotion too much and spending money to buy stuff that definately cost too much due to the branding. I hope the people seeing the work i done would be rethinking to buy these stuff before they buy it, at least, thinking about why i did it.

porkhose

pantyhose interests me when i was very young, to me it's becoming one of my fetish,therefore i want to use pantyhose to do an artwork. To me, with pantyhose, many legs of girl will become more attractive, and I would like to try how if i put some animal legs inside a pantyhose,for example, the pig legs, i wonder how would it look , originally it's the idea of my final project of this course, but it's not easy to find many pig legs therefore i did another.

silence

it's also an idea. I want to make a space or maybe a room that either emit some wave to interference with the sound when the audience is talking, therefore although the audience is talking, but the people beside the talking one will hear nothing , which means that in this space, we can talk but there's no sound, I think it's very interesting that , in this society , we always can talk, but just like no one is hearing or couldn't hear us, therefore i have this idea.

sound jail

it's still an idea, I always want to produce a space that using sound constricting the movement of human, when people moving in that space, the room will emit some very high frequency sound and people probably can't hear anything but feeling that there's a high frequency sound. when the movement is more bigger, the frequency will become higher, people there will have a very hard feeling of the very high frequency sound.I am still trying to refine the idea of it and i want to make it become more interesting.

white noise of coins, co-operate with Frank Lam and Gi Hung

this work is a sound installation, we find out the resonant frequency of the 20cents coins, when we provide the frequency to the coins with a contact microphone,the coins will vibrate and sound like white noise. in this interactive work,when audience go under the little white box, the contact microphone insid the box will emit the frequency sound and the audience then can listen the white noise generated by the coins.

the deadline, co-operate with Frank Lam and Gi Hung

this work is a sound installation, we use 210 pieces of alarm clocks and hang them in a white box. we definately tune the clock and the alarm as simoutaneous as we can , however, due to the operating flaw of each clock,every clocks are not alarming at the same time but alarming in random order, the alarm clocks are actually composing the rythm since their working flaw, we found it is interesting because the alarming sound will be different everytime according to the working flaw of the clocks and the 'do,do' sound of the alarms become a continuous tone since to the mass amount of alarm clocks.

In this work, i want to express how i feel to the magazine culture in Hong Kong nowadays, especially the snap shot culture. It's my personal feeling below:

unknown pleasure

Although I did this work in wood workshop but i consider this work is made by nails. Nails here are not constructing the wood but are transforming the wood, making the wood from a flat surface to be 3d, the nails making the middle of the wood raised and therefore the wood can stand. To me, the crack of the wood is the most pretty thing in this work. Doesn't it look like the album cover of joy division's unknown pleasures?

a peace of mahjong

This is an utterly failed work with acrylic plastic. I wanted to make a mahjong that is see-through in order to present how i feel to the game mahjong.But, as the mahjong is too small, it's very hard to cut the acrylic plastic to be that small and fine, the glue is hard to control when using it to a small object, and also it's hard to carve the little mahjong with cutter , therefore i have created this very ugly acrylic plastic. It's not successful though.

doomed roach

This roach is covered under a piece of glass, for the memory of him, we use our hair from different parts of our body to be buried with him, he is a friend of frank, he is nice, he never thought of killing the people who have different political view with him.

suiciding ashtray

This ashtray is made with clay, and it's made like a human shape but the lungs are exposed, when use this ashtray, the cigarette ash is going to be thrown on the lung directly in the ashtray, which wants to remind smokers that smoking is a directly harm to our body.

congealed living hand

It's another classwork using molding method and a material called plaster to finish this work. I wanted to make an ugly-looking and unpleasant hand. To me it achieve my goal since the plaster material makes the hand's texture much more weird and interesting.
